Travels with the Cricket

This is a question I actually get a lot. And the answer is…. there’s no 1 answer to this question.

• What are you hoping to do while abroad the ship?
• What ports of call are you looking to visit?
• Are you looking for a family friendly cruise or more of an adult crowd?

Royal Caribbean has been my first choice cruise line for these cruisers. Royal’s ships have such a wide variety of activities, shows and things to see that sometimes it’s difficult to actually see and/or so everything you want to.

Now, with the arrival of their later ships, Carnival Cruise Line is also a top contender for the category or cruisers. From water slides to ropes courses to suspended “biking” around parts of the ship to the upcoming roller coaster aboard the Mardi Gras… Carnival has definitely entered the arena. It doesn’t hurt that many of their cruises do come in at a lower price point which can be a huge deciding factor for many cruisers.

** Couples looking for a romantic getaway and/or an exciting adventure for two **

Norwegian Cruise Line and MSC are my top two for this group.

Norwegian often has their “Free at Sea” promotion included and this can add tons of value to each dollar spent. When you can eat at some of the specialty restaurants, have the unlimited beverage package, get credits towards excursions, have 250 minutes of free WiFi and even free (or discounted) airfare…. it definitely paints a very pretty picture.

MSC is, in my personal opinion, has some of the most beautiful ships in the industry. Swarovski crystals in the staircases, Cirque shows aboard many ships and some absolutely fabulous food make this cruise line hard to beat.

Coming to the cruise market soon is Virgin Voyages. These cruises are for adults only (18+) and bring the unique style of the Virgin brand to the cruise world. What other cruise line can say that they have a tattoo parlor onboard? The answer… none of them.

** Cruisers looking to immerse themselves in the cultures of Europe while traveling along their beautiful rivers **

AmaWaterways is the river cruise company that I work with for these vacations. They have a sterling reputation and are the only river cruise company that Adventures by Disney uses. The luxury of traveling through Europe without having to unpack and then repack over & over again is HUGE! Add to that the fact that you are eating local cuisine from each of the ports of call and you have yourself immersive experience.
